Meet Your Executive Director

Campbell McClure

Why did you get into senior living?

Early on, I pursued a career in nursing because of my passion for healthcare. I just never thought it would take me outside of the acute setting. Although I was grateful for my opportunity to work with critical care patients, the relationships I now form with my residents are so much more personal. Being able to greet them every morning, share meaningful moments with them, learn about their families, and positively influence their final years is a gift I don’t take for granted. Senior Living is a family bond and one I’m happy found me.

Who truly inspires you?

Family. Everything I do, is for them. I grew up with a single mom who raised my brother and I while working paycheck to paycheck. Nice things were foreign to us, but it didn’t matter. The love she showed us was all that did. After she met my stepdad, our lifestyle changed. Most importantly, my brother and I now had a father figure in our lives. Looking back, I now respect the investment he made getting involved with a single mother of two at such a young age. Speaking with him, he said we (my brother and I) were why he took that chance. He knew he wanted to be a father and never once treated us like we were stepchildren. Truth is, he adopted my brother and I and I carry his name proudly. I saw his passion for providing and knew I would do the same for my family one day. Veronica and Atlas are my inspiration, and I will always try to make them proud.

A thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Probably the most “millennial” thing I do. Video Games! When my wife and work schedule allows it, I still enjoy playing video games with my friends on the weekend. So, send me a friend request lol.

Beatles or Elvis?

Respectfully, neither. Both are legends that will never die. My musical preference is wide although growing up in Mt. Hermon, Louisiana at my aunt & uncle’s house taught me to love the blues. My uncle is a local musician, Big Daddy O’, and we were always listening to him play or famous artist in his genre. Folks like Keb’ Mo’, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Eric Clapton are my kind of vibe.

How did you wind up at Inspired Living?

Funny story, I actually saw Inspired’s posting for an Associate Executive Director and kept scrolling after reading the description. An industry friend knew our Regional Director, Executive Director at the time, and convinced me to apply. Three years later, not a day goes by that I don’t thank the man upstairs for the opportunity He and Steve Benjamin gave me. Learning how to operate a successful Senior Living Community under, who I consider my greatest mentor, has been a privilege. Being able to practice nursing and incorporate that experience with my operational knowledge has been my winning formula. One I hope will continue to elevate our mom’s and dad’s living experience.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Leaving the world, a better place. I want people to look back on my life and say I was a great leader who made people better. Whether that was through education, motivation, or compassion, I simply want to be remembered for making a difference. Accomplishments and accolades are important measures of success, but caring for others with a servant mentality is one I hope rubs off on those who follow my footsteps. I want my son to grow up understanding the value of things and that nothing in this world is owed to you. Work hard every single day and be selfless. Keep God and family first and the rest will work itself out.
