Meet Your Corporate Director of Engagement

How did you get into senior living?
I stumbled into senior living years ago when I wanted a PT job just to have some extra money when my girls were younger. I took a job as an HR Assistant and never looked back.
Who truly inspires you?
So many people inspire me but the two people that inspire me most are my daughters. At a young age, they had to deal with their dad who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia. They never treated him any differently than their dad. They still joked around with him and they continued to tease each other which made the situation bearable most days. So often family members disconnect from loved ones with dementia because it’s so hard to deal with the cognitive decline. We had many bad days, but my girls managed to deal with his decline and subsequent death better than most people. I don’t think they ever realized how much they helped me push throw the hard days and keep it together especially at the end of his life. I’ve no doubt that he’d be extremely proud of them.
A thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’ve been to over 30 rock concerts and plan to attend my next one in Tampa when I see the Rolling Stones for a second time.
Beatles or Elvis?
Definitely the Beatles …and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.
How did you wind up at Inspired Living?
I was in the process of looking for a new opportunity and I noticed a position that was right up my alley was available at Inspired Living. I reached out to several employees who I worked with at a previous company and after we touched base I decided that I really wanted to work for this company. I had worked for a few larger corporations and I thought that this was an opportunity to make a difference in the daily lives of seniors very quickly.
What do you want your legacy to be?
That I understood, I cared, and tried to make a difference in people’s lives.
