Meet Your President and Chief Financial Officer
Lindsey Hacker
Why did you get into senior living?
My grandparents played a significant part of my life growing up and I was very close to them. After leaving public accounting, I started in senior living in 2009 and immediately fell in love with the industry. I watched both of my grandmothers fight dementia and I know personally the toll that takes on a family. It really brings home what we do here at Inspired Living each and every day. Every one of our residents is someone’s mom, dad, sister, brother, grandmother or grandfather.
Who truly inspires you?
People inspire me, especially those that spend their lives caring for other people. We all need people in our lives to help guide us, mentor us and take care of us. Certain times of our lives, we need people more and more. Everyone has a story to tell. What inspires me are those stories and how we can live the legacy of those before us and leave one for those behind us. My twin girls are named after my grandmother and I hope this carries on her legacy to them.
A thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I have 4 children! Sarah Rose & Tatum Grace, 2 years, Jackson, 15 and Jordan, 17 … oh, and I can do a back flip!
Beatles or Elvis?
Hmmm… Elvis, baby!
How did you wind up at Inspired Living?
I started out in senior living as Director of Accounting at Horizon Bay working with Steve Benjamin. I later went on to work for Brookdale after the Horizon Bay/Brookdale acquisition where I grew my career on the operational side of the business in a regional role of financial planning and analysis supporting the operations team. Steve and I always stayed connected on what was happening at Inspired Living and finally it was time to come home. I say home because that’s exactly what it feels like. There are several colleagues I have worked with over the years here at Inspired Living and we have created a culture that people truly want to be a part of. It feels good to be inspired every day.
What do you want your legacy to be?
My family and passion for others. I want to give more than I take and be known for someone who cares for others and not just in times of need. I want to be a great mentor and share all my knowledge with those who seek it. I want to be mentored and gain as much insight as possible to share with others. We are all only as good as we are together.
